REVERSE ENGINEERING
& 3d SCANNING
Reverse Engineering is a technique used to 3D scan an object to achieve an accurate model without the timely constraints of measuring and modeling. 3D scanning uses a high resolution camera and plots the surface of an object into a cloud based mesh. This mech is then used to create a 3D surface or parametric model.

3D scanning is used when:
- 3d scan data is modeled “design intent” as a parametric model that can be edited in the tree to create improvements to an existing design using the scan data as a guide.
- New product development.
- Used for new products that require an accurate model of an existing product or part.
- Quality Control
